CCG Advisors today announced the acquisition of its
client Nanak’s Landscaping, a premier Florida
landscaping service provider, by ValleyCrest Companies.
Nanak’s and its owners, Sampuran Khalsa and
Mahan Kalpa Khalsa, were
represented by CCG Advisors, a merger and acquisition
firm based in Atlanta specializing in the sale of green
industry businesses.
Headquartered in Orlando, Florida,
Nanak’s serves commercial clients throughout Florida
from four regional offices in Jacksonville, Tampa,
Sarasota and St. Augustine.
Founded in 1973 by Sampuran Khalsa and Mahan
Kalpa Khalsa, Nanak’s is
consistently ranked as one of the top 30 largest
landscape companies in the nation and one of the top 4
privately-held companies dedicated exclusively to
recurring maintenance and enhancements work nationwide.
Nanak’s
has developed a reputation as a cutting-edge “green”
company through its commitment to energy efficiency and
sustainable practices and was given an “Innovation in
Business Award” in 2010 by
Lawn & Landscape
Magazine for the company’s sustainability efforts.
CCG Advisors worked closely with teams from Nanak’s and
ValleyCrest to facilitate the merger between the two.
“CCG did an incredible job of handling the
complexities of the transaction while letting our folks
continue to focus on running the business,” said
Sampuran Khalsa.
“This transaction was far more complex and
nuanced than anything I had ever been involved with.
Brian and his team were amazingly skilled and worked
long into the night helping us craft a ‘win win win’
solution for ourselves, our employees and the new
owners.”
“Joining ValleyCrest is a natural move for Nanak’s
because as we have experienced record growth in recent
years we have reached a size where we will benefit from
the expertise of a company that has operated
successfully at this scale,” said Sampuran Khalsa.
“We are convinced that in ValleyCrest we’ve found
a partner whose values match up well with our core
philosophies and approach to the landscape services
business including our deep commitment to promoting more
eco-friendly and sustainable landscape practices.”
The transaction will add substantially to ValleyCrest’s
market presence in the state of Florida.
Roger Zino, President of ValleyCrest Landscape
Maintenance cited several reasons for the merger
including ValleyCrest’s “aspiration to provide unrivaled
expertise to serve our customers in each market that we
operate.
Florida is a unique market due both to the importance of
landscape to our customers’ businesses and the unique
climate which leads to complex landscape challenges.”
Mr. Zino said that partnering with Nanak’s
“provides us with an unmatched platform of resources to
deliver superior service to our customers time after
time.”
